A short review of "Room" by Emma Donoghue

I chose this book because it was recommended by Kindle, and it had good reviews. I also wanted something easy to read, and this certainly is.

The book is about a young woman who is kidnapped and held for years in a small room. In this room she has a child, called Jack, who is five when the book opens, and narrates the story. The book describes their captive life, escape and immediate aftermath.

I would say the book is OK, but not fantastic. The author just manages to keep the five-year-old narration fresh throughout, but the story is a little predictable. Probably more interesting for parents of young kids!
